How we work

We use nimtin ourselves.

Subhadeep operates onnbon, a Wednesday tea bar inside Roses on Adeline in South Berkeley. The collaboration between onnbon and Roses is the model for nimtin collaboration. We saw how trust and belief in each other, respect and care for spaces, can create community and activate a block. We support and work with independent owner-operators to build nimtin.

“We want to see more community spaces in our neighborhood. It’s been a beautiful thing to witness and how this little pop up has grown.”
Rose · Roses on Adeline

Roses is an inspiration in our neighborhood. Thank you for supporting our little community experiment.

Our story

Built for the people who bring neighborhoods to life.

Our neighborhoods are full of amazing people, ideas and spaces, but they don’t always seem to meet. We believe in in-person commerce, in the physical spaces where communities gather. These spaces make communities special, and people happier and healthier.

Starting a retail business is hard. Long leases, costly buildouts, no foot traffic guarantee - the odds are stacked against you before you open the door. Brick-and-mortar owners know this because they’ve already lived it. Now they need sustainable revenue and fresh foot traffic without adding more to their plate.

So we are building a Trust + Collaboration Layer: documentation, payments and collaboration logistics handled, so vendors, venues and organizers can focus on what they do best. An event becomes a partnership. A partnership becomes a sustainable business. An empty day becomes a revenue day. A customer becomes a regular.

nimtin is inspired by the Vietnamese word niềm tin: belief, trust, confidence. Every collaboration on nimtin is built to earn all three.
